The moment that changed everything
Konstantinos Tzias — the first Greek to participate in the Everest Marathon 2026 Since 2003 — he arrived in Nepal for yet another trip. But the next day, the 7.8-magnitude earthquake changed everything — and with it, he changed as well.
He didn't just stand by and watch. He took immediate action and, in collaboration with the Sitashma Chand, he helped coordinate humanitarian aid for those affected. It was there that he realized that the real struggle is not an individual one—it is a collective one.
Today, he returns to run the Everest Marathon. Not for personal achievement, but for a cause: to support initiatives that change lives.
Through fundraising for the Rotary Foundation, supports programs with a proven impact on communities around the world—from access to clean water and healthcare to education and sustainable development.
Because he believes in something simple: that reaching great heights is only worthwhile when you help others climb alongside you.
Every step Konstantinos takes is meaningful.

The Everest Marathon 2026 Route
Starting from Everest Base Camp, the Full Marathon, the Olympic Style – 42.195 KM ends at Namche Bazar. Each year hundreds of participants run the full category in Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon. Participants will camp at Everest Base Camp before the race day. The course of the Full Marathon is mostly downhill and is a trekking trail hence caution while running is a must. The trails of the 42.195 km Marathon descend through Gorakshep and head down towards Dingboche where runners will make a loop at Bibre. From there, the tracks will descend to Namche via Kyanjuma.
